HL Deb 28 May 1970 vol 310 c1178
BARONESSS PHILLIPS

My Lords, I beg to move that the draft Supplementary Benefit (Determination of Requirements) Regulations 1970, a draft of which was laid before the House on May 15, 1970, be approved. These Regulations increase the rates of requirements laid down under the Ministry of Social Security Act 1966. Together with an allowance for rent, they will, if approved, make up the new guaranteed levels of income for retired people, and others not in full-time work, from November 2. In view of the time, I will move this formally, and I will reply if any noble Lord wishes to raise a point. I beg to move.

Moved, That the draft Supplementary Benefit (Determination of Requirements) Regulations 1970, laid before the House on 15th May 1970, be approved.—(Baroness Phillips.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
