§ THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD GARDINER)My Lords, I have to inform your Lordships that Her Majesty has been pleased to terminate the abeyance of the Barony of Dacre in favour of Rachel Leila Douglas-Home. The Barony has been in abeyance since the death in 1965 of her father, Thomas Henry Viscount Hampden. A Writ of Summons has been issued in pursuance of Section 6 of the Peerage Act 1963, and the noble Lady attends at the Bar to take her seat.
After which, Baroness Dacre took the Oath.
