THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD GARDINER)

My Lords, I have to inform your Lordships that Her Majesty has been pleased to terminate the abeyance of the Barony of Dacre in favour of Rachel Leila Douglas-Home. The Barony has been in abeyance since the death in 1965 of her father, Thomas Henry Viscount Hampden. A Writ of Summons has been issued in pursuance of Section 6 of the Peerage Act 1963, and the noble Lady attends at the Bar to take her seat.

After which, Baroness Dacre took the Oath.

The Lord Annaly—Sat first in Parliament after the death of his father.
