HL Deb 05 February 1969 vol 299 c134
LORD NUNBURNHOLME

My Lords, I beg leave to introduce a Bill to restrict the use of gaming machines in amusement places and to prohibit such use on licensed premises. I beg to move that this Bill be now read a first time.

I should explain that this Bill is in substitution for the Gaming (Amendment) Bill which I introduced earlier this Session. My reason for introducing this (No. 2) Bill is to restrict the use of gaming machines in amusement arcades in addition to the prohibition on their use on licensed premises which is contained in my earlier Bill. Accordingly, if the Motion for the First Reading of this Bill is agreed to, I will ask leave to withdraw my original Bill.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 1ª.—(Lord Nunburnholme.)

On Question, Bill read 1ª, and to be printed.
