HL Deb 23 May 1968 vol 292 c859

[Nos. 2 and 3]

Clause 2, page 2, line 33, leave out line 33

Clause 2, page 2, line 43, at beginning insert ("any description applied in pursuance of the Fertilisers and Feeding Stuffs Act 1926 to an article included in the first column of Schedule 1 to that Act")

LORD WINTERBOTTOM

My Lords, with the leave of the House I will move these two Amendments together. They correct a mistake in Clause 2(4). This originally exempted all descriptions applied to goods in pursuance of the Fertilisers and Feeding Stuffs Act 1926 from being trade descriptions under this Bill. In fact, however, it is only descriptions applied to articles included in Schedule 1 to the 1926 Act which may be the subject of a criminal offence under that Act. The Amendment narrows the exemption accordingly. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Lord Winterbottom.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
