THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE, HOME OFFICE (LORD STONHAM)

My Lords, in the absence of my noble Leader, I beg to move the Motion standing in his name. The Motion is consequential upon the acceptance by the House last Thursday of the first Report of the Select Committee on Televising the Proceedings of the House. In effect, it carries out the Select Committee's own request to have their terms of reference extended to sound. I beg to move.

Moved, That the question of the sound broadcasting of the proceedings of the House be referred to the Select Committee on Televising the Proceedings of the House.—(Lord Stonham.)
