HL Deb 19 March 1964 vol 256 c967

3.55 p.m.

Second Reading debate resumed.

LORD ABERDARE

My Lords, to return to tribal matters, I should like to express my great gratitude to the noble Lord, Lord Champion, and the noble Lord, Lord Ogmore, for giving this Bill their warm support; and I should also like to express my particular gratitude to the noble Lord, Lord Brecon, for giving us the support of Her Majesty's Government. I hope and think that in the course of his remarks he satisfied my noble friend Lord Boston on his points. These forms are not going to be forced down anybody's throat. They will be available side by side with the forms in English and are not part of any deep-laid plot for Home Rule.

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
