HL Deb 06 July 1964 vol 259 cc814-5

2.45 p.m.

LORD BOSSOM

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty Government whether they will make arrangements for the sketch drawings of the design which they are considering for approval for the new Foreign Office building in Whitehall to be exhibited in the building of Parliament before any final decision is reached, so that Members and others who hold strong views on this subject may have the opportunity of giving the Government the benefit of their knowledge before an irreparable decision is made.]

THE MINISTER OF DEFENCE FOR THE ROYAL NAVY (EARL JELLICOE)

Yes, my Lords. When the drawings of the new Foreign Office are available my right honourable friend will make arrangements for them to be exhibited in this building before the scheme goes ahead.

LORD BOSSOM

My Lords, may I thank my noble friend exceedingly for that answer? I am sure it will be appreciated throughout the entire world.
