§ 2.53 p.m.
VISCOUNT ALEXANDER OF HILLS-BOROUGHMy Lords, may I ask whether Her Majesty's Government will answer the Question, of which I have given Private Notice: Whether Her Majesty's Government will to-day make a statement to your Lordships' House on the position which has arisen upon the termination of negotiations in Brussels?
§ THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL AND MINISTER FOR SCIENCE (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)My Lords, it would be my intention, for the convenience of the House, to repeat in parallel terms a statement which I understand is to be made somewhat later in another place by my right honourable friend the Lord Privy Seal. I think that would probably be the most convenient course for me to take.
