HL Deb 26 January 1961 vol 227 c1308
VISCOUNT STONEHAVEN

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper:

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government if they will state in what proportions the grants provided through the Forestry Commission for certain aspects of fundamental research to universities and other institutions in Great Britain were allocated to Scotland, England and Wales over the last five years.]

THE MINISTER OF STATE, SCOTTISH OFFICE (LORD CRAIGTON)

My Lords, the proportions were: England, 53 per cent.; Scotland, 41 per cent.; Wales, 6 per cent.

VISCOUNT STONEHAVEN

I thank the noble Lord for that Answer.
