HL Deb 19 May 1960 vol 223 cc1054-5
VISCOUNT BRENTFORD

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they have received the Report of the Committee on the issue of subpoenas for the purposes of disciplinary tribunals of professional bodies.]

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT KILMUIR)

Yes, my Lords. The Report has been laid before Parliament and will be published at four o'clock this afternoon. The House will wish to join with me in expressing our thanks to the Chairman, the noble and learned Viscount, Lord Simonds, and to the noble and learned Lord, Lord Morris of Borth-y-Gest, and to Lord Thomson for their valuable services.

VISCOUNT BRENTFORD

My Lords, may I associate myself with my noble and learned friend's remarks concerning the appreciation which we have for the work of this Committee, and assure him that the professional bodies will be very glad indeed to know that the Report is ready.
