Clause 5, page 3, line 27, at end insert ("and in the case of a second or subsequent conviction to a fine not exceeding fifty pounds or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months, or to both such fine and imprisonment").

My Lords, this Amendment deals with penalties. Clause 5 empowers the Commission to require owners to make returns of the numbers of red deer killed. The present penalty for failure to make a return or for making a false return is £20. The Amendment provides for a penalty of £50, or three months' imprisonment, or both, upon a second or a subsequent conviction. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.
