HL Deb 15 July 1958 vol 210 c1031
VISCOUNT ALEXANDER OF HILLSBOROUGH

My Lords, may I ask the noble Earl the Leader of the House whether the Government have any statement to make to-day on the position in Iraq?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR COMMONWEALTH RELATIONS (THE EARL OF HOME)

Yes, my Lords. As soon as possible after half-past three, depending on when the Prime Minister and the Foreign Secretary get up in another place, I hope to make two statements, one on the reorganisation of defence machinery and the other on the situation in the Middle East.
