HL Deb 25 July 1956 vol 199 c199

2.34 p.m.

VISCOUNT ELIBANK

My Lords, I beg to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether it is the case that the Minister of Housing and Local Government is in process of co-ordinating measures designed to deal with the quite intolerable litter nuisance; and, if so, whether the Secretary of State for Scotland is undertaking equivalent co-ordination in Scotland.]

THE MINISTER WITHOUT PORT-FOLIO (THE EARL OF MUNSTER)

My Lords, the answer to both parts of the Question is in the affirmative.

VISCOUNT ELIBANK

My Lords, I beg to thank the noble Earl for his Answer. May the House take it that Her Majesty's Government are pursuing every possible means and investigating everything that it may be possible to investigate in order to put these abominable litter-mongers and human pests "on the spot."

THE EARL OF MUNSTER

My Lords, the Answer is again in the affirmative.
