HL Deb 27 October 1953 vol 183 cc1377-8

3.8 p.m.

EARL HOWE

My Lords, I beg to ask the first Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether it is proposed to allow the situation disclosed by the Road Research Board to continue indefinitely, namely, that over 90 per cent, of the drivers of heavy commercial vehicles exceed the existing 20 mile limit.]

THE EARL OF BIRKENHEAD

My Lords, I regret that I cannot add to the statements made on behalf of Her Majesty's Government by my noble friend Lord, Lloyd on July 14, when the noble Earl asked a similar Question.
