My Lords, I beg to ask the second Question which stands in ray name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government when it is proposed to lay the revised Highway Code before Parliament.]

THE EARL OF BIRKENHEAD

My Lords, a draft of the revised Highway Code has now been approved by the Departmental Committee on Road Safety, and my right honourable friend the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation intends, within the next few days, to circulate it to interested organisations. The Code will be laid before Parliament as soon as possible after their comments have been received.
