HL Deb 27 October 1953 vol 183 cc1394-5

Clause 15, page 17, line 9, leave out ("include") and insert ("and to a Minister of the Crown include respectively").

Clause 15, page 17, line 10, at end insert ("and (in relation to a department of that Government) to a Minister of Northern Ireland.")

LORD MANCROFT

My Lords, the Amendment to Clause 15, at page 17, line 9, and the next one, at line 10, also go together. They are required simply to deal with the technical point that the term "Minister of the Crown," which is used in Clause 9, is not appropriate in so far as the Bill extends to Northern Ireland, where the correct expression is "Minister of Northern Ireland." These are drafting Amendments, and I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.

Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Lord Mancroft.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
