§ [The references are to Bill No. 107 as first printed for the House of Commons]
§ Clause 3, page 4, line 9, leave out ("custodian") and insert ("competent authority")
§ LORD MANCROFTMy Lords, this Amendment was accepted by the Government in another place in the interests of uniform wording. Clauses I and 2 of the Bill use the expression "competent authority" and it was thought that the same expression was appropriate here. Of course, "competent authority" is a wider term than the word "custodian." I think this is a useful tidying-up Amendment, which I hope your Lordships will see fit to accept. I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.
§ Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.— (Lord Mancroft.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
