HL Deb 16 December 1953 vol 185 c135
LORD MANCROFT

My Lords, Section 24 of the Act to which I have just referred, also requires my right honourable friend the Minister of Supply to make Regulations for the payment of compensation to employees of publicly owned iron and steel companies, and to employees of the Iron and Steel Corporation of Great Britain, who suffered loss of employment or loss or diminution of emoluments and pension rights in consequence of de-nationalisation, The Draft Regulations now before your Lordships' House follow the principles of the compensation regulations for employees of the Road Haulage Executive who suffered loss on account of de-nationalisation, which your Lordships' House approved on July 30 last. I hope your Lordships will also be good enough to approve these Regulations. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Iron and Steel (Compensation to Officers and Servants) (No. 2) Regulations, 1953, reported from the Special Orders Committee on Wednesday last, be approved.—(Lord Mancroft.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
