§ VISCOUNT HALLMy Lords, on behalf of my noble friend the Leader of the House, who is unable to be in his place to-day, I have an announcement to make on our meetings after the Whitsuntide Recess. It is as follows. I am now able to inform the House that the work of restoring and re-seating our proper Chamber will be completed before the end of the Whitsun Recess. We shall, therefore, resume our Sittings in our proper chamber on Tuesday, May 29, at 2.30 p.m. Members of the House will, I am sure, also be interested to know that Committee Room "A" will have been re-furnished as a guest room for Peers and their guests, as recommended by the Offices Committee and approved by the House. This room will be available for use on Thursday, May 24.
§ VISCOUNT SWINTONMy Lords, I am grateful for the progress report, and to be assured that such complete arrangements have been made both for our work and for our play. I only trust that in the improvements which have been made the acoustics have been adequately attended to.
