HL Deb 19 June 1951 vol 172 c118
THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT(LORD LUCAS OF CHILWORTH)

My Lords, in moving the Motion standing in my name upon the Order Paper, I do not think it is necessary for me to weary your Lordships unduly. This Order follows exactly the pattern of previous Orders which have received the approval of your Lordships, and the money, which will amount to £2,000 in the first six months, rising to £15,000 a year, will be paid over to British Lace Furnishings (Overseas) Limited, for the purpose of export promotion. It will be in a separate account, controlled by my noble friend the Paymaster General, and from time to time the Board of Trade will authorise payments to this company for the purpose set out. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Lace Furnishings Industry (Export Promotion Levy) Order, 1951, reported from the Special Orders Committee on Wednesday last, be approved.—(Lord Lucas of Chilworth.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
