Clause 36, page 17, line 27, leave out from ("and") to end of line 29, and insert ("for references to the day on which a summons is served and to the day on which it is returnable there shall be respectively substituted references to the day on which a complaint is served and to the day on which the prosecution thereon proceeds to trial.")

My Lords, the expression "the day on which the summons is returnable," which occurs in Clause 21 (2) and Clause 24 (2), requires interpretation for Scotland, and this Amendment is designed to this effect. I beg to move.
