HL Deb 25 July 1951 vol 172 cc1212-3
THE MARQUESS OF ABERDEEN AND TEMAIR

My Lords, may I have the privilege of asking a supplementary question to the Question standing in my name on the Order Paper, which was answered in my absence?

LORD MORRISON

My Lords, I am doubtful whether it is in accordance with the Rules of the House for me to repeat an answer that I have already given in reply to the noble Lord, Lord Carrington. But if I may be allowed to summarise my reply, it was to the effect that my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Scotland had carefully considered the question and has come to the decision that, in view of the opposition of the Aberdeen County Council, he should not allow the race meeting arranged to take place on Sunday, August 19.

THE MARQUESS OF ABERDEEN AND TEMAIR

My Lords——

SEVERAL NOBLE LORDS

Order, order!
