§ CROP ACREAGE PAYMENTS (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER, 1950

§ THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES (THE EARL OF HUNTINGDON)My Lords, these Orders authorise acreage payments for 1950 crops of potatoes and rye, for which similar Orders were made last year. As your Lordships will be aware, these payments form part of the system of guaranteed returns for these crops. The rates of payment are those which were announced on March 17, 1949, following the February price review. The terms of the three Orders vary in some 385 measure to meet local circumstances. I beg to move that these Orders be now approved.
