HL Deb 01 March 1949 vol 161 cc5-6
LORD SHEPHERD

My Lords, I beg to move, That the Special Order, as reported from the Special Orders Committee on Wednesday last, be approved. The Regulations contained in the Order are little altered from those originally in operation. They were, in draft, the subject of conversations between the principal agents of the main Parties and the electoral registration officers, and have been approved by them. The only other point which needs to be mentioned is that the first register to be published under the Order will be published on October 15, and the first qualifying date for that register will be June 10, 1949.

Moved, That the Special Order, as reported from the Special Orders Committee on Wednesday last, be approved.—(Lord Shepherd.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
