HL Deb 07 June 1948 vol 156 c399

7.45 P.m.

LORD WALKDEN

My Lords, before we adjourn for dinner, I beg leave to make the following announcement on the adjourned debate on the Second Reading of the Parliament Bill, to-morrow and Wednesday next. Owing to the number of noble Lords who have notified their wish to take part in the debate, it may be necessary to ask your Lordships to sit after dinner to-morrow (Tuesday) and to meet on Wednesday at two o'clock, instead of two-thirty, in order that the House may be ready to divide between five and six o'clock. I will repeat this announcement when we adjourn to-night, as the notice is so short.

[The Sitting was suspended at thirteen minutes before eight o'clock and resumed at nine o'clock.]
