Clause 38, line 41, line 7, at beginning insert ("Notwithstanding anything in section two of the Criminal Evidence Act, 1898,").

The Commons agreed to the above Amendment, but proposed the following Amendment thereto— At end of the Amendment insert ("or in section fourteen of the Summary Jurisdiction Act, 1648").

My Lords, this is in the nature of a drafting Amendment. The Commons have accepted our Amendment, but propose an addition there to. I beg to move that this House do agree with the Amendment made by the Commons to the Lords Amendment.
