§ LORD AMMONMy Lords, in moving on behalf of my noble friend Viscount Addison the Motion standing in his name on the Order Paper, I may say that it was represented to me yesterday by the leaders of the Parties opposite that it would be advantageous, and would meet the general wishes of your Lordships, if we could postpone the debate on the economic situation—a Motion for which was standing on the Paper for next Wednesday, March 12—until the following Wednesday, March 19. This would involve bringing forward by a week the Motion on Motor Taxation of my noble friend Lord Lucas of Chilworth, a proposal to which Lord Lucas very readily agreed. I beg to move.
§ Moved, That leave be given for the Lord Lucas of Chilworth's Motion (now standing for Wednesday, the 19th instant) to be advanced to Wednesday next.—(Lord Ammon.)
170§ VISCOUNT SWINTONMy Lords, I would just like to thank the noble Viscount the Leader of the House for his kindness and courtesy in making this arrangement. I am sure it will be greatly for the convenience of the House. Perhaps I might also thank the noble Lord, Lord Lucas of Chilworth, for facilitating the arrangement for our general convenience.
§ On Question, Motion agreed to, and leave given accordingly.
