HL Deb 29 July 1947 vol 151 cc730-1

Clause not, page 109, line 21, at end insert: ("(3) Any dispute between the Commission and an officer or servant as to whether any or what compensation is payable under this section or any regulation made thereunder shall be referred o a referee or board of referees appointed by the Minister of Labour and National Service for determination and such reference shall be deemed to be an arbitration within the meaning of the Arbitration Acts, 1889 to 1934, and the provisions of those Acts relating to statutory arbitrations shall apply to such reference and determination.")

The Commons disagreed to this Amendment for the following Reason:

Because the said Amendment is inconsistent with the Amendments proposed by the Commons in lieu of the Lords Amendment in page 106, line 8.

VISCOUNT ADDISON

I beg to move that this House do not insist on the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House do not insist on the Amendment to which the Commons have disagreed.—(Viscount Addison.)
