HL Deb 02 December 1947 vol 152 c1015
THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (VISCOUNT ADDISON)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion which stands in my name on the Order Paper. In view of the exceptional character of the occasion, I believe your Lordships will give it your assent. I beg to move.

Moved, that Standing Orders Nos. XXI and XXXIX be considered in order to their being dispensed with for the purpose of giving the New Zealand Constitution (Amendment) Bill [H.L.] precedence over the other Notices and Orders of the Day and of passing the Bill through its remaining stages.—[Viscount Addison.]

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
