§ 2.27 p.m.
§ VISCOUNT SAMUELMy Lords, I beg to ask the question which I have placed on the Paper.
§ [The question was as follows:
§ To ask His Majesty's Government what progress has been made with the preliminary arrangements for the holding of an international exhibition in London, if possible in 1951.]
§ LORD CHORLEYMy Lords, extensive inquiries have been made to estimate the amount of labour and material which would be required for an international exhibition in the London area in 1951. These estimates are now under consideration to determine the effect on housing and on other projects. Other arrangements must be dependent on the decision on this point.
