HL Deb 31 January 1946 vol 139 cc123-4

Page 2, line 4, leave out ("to be paid to the") and insert ("any party in whose favour the variation or reversal operates to pay to any").

LORD PETHICK-LAWRENCE

My Lords, the third Amendment is again one for clarification. It was thought that there might be some ambiguity as to the person who is to make the payment, and it is therefore proposed to make this alteration so that the point may be abundantly clear. I do not think there is any substance to which I need draw your Lordships' attention, and I move that we agree with the Commons in this Amendment.

Moved, That the House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Pethick-Lawrence.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
