§ THE EARL OF LISTOWELMy Lords, the object of the Resolution standing in my name is to enable the Governor of Madras to prolong his personal powers beyond April 29 in case a Government has not been formed by the Madras Provincial Legislature by that date. I beg to move the Resolution.
§ Moved, That this House approves the continuance in force of the Proclamation issued under Section 93 of the Government of India Act, 1935, by the Governor of Madras on 30th October, 1939, and of his Proclamations varying the same issued on 15th February, 1943, and 29th September, 1945, copies of which were presented to this House on 28th November, 1939, 16th March, 1943, and 16th October, 1945, respectively.—(The Earl of Listowel.)
