HL Deb 08 June 1945 vol 136 c516

Clause 5, page 6, line 3, after ("property") insert ("in respect of any provable debt").

LORD ALNESS

My Lords, the purpose of the second Amendment is to make it clear that a protection order does not preclude proceedings in respect of debts which have been contracted after the commencement of adjustment proceedings. If the debtor is allowed to carry on business there would appear to be no reason why the recovery of debts incurred by him in doing so should be in any way restricted. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment—(Lord Alness.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
