HL Deb 19 December 1945 vol 138 c942

5.2 p.m.

VISCOUNT SIMONhad given Notice that he would ask His Majesty's Government whether their attention has been called to the Report of the Committee on Legal Aid and Legal Advice for Poor Persons which was presented to Parliament in May last; and whether His Majesty's Government are taking any steps to implement the Committee's recommendations. The noble and learned Viscount said: My Lords, as the Paper shows, I have a question down to members of His Majesty's Government about the Report of the Committee on Legal Aid and Legal Advice. The question is, I venture to think, of very great importance and interests many members of your Lordships' House who are not able to be here to-day. With your Lordships' leave, I propose not to put that question to-day and I hope to he able to put it on Thursday, 31st January.
