THE EARL OF ONSLOW

My Lords, in moving that the India and Burma Orders Committee be appointed I would ask your Lordships to observe that the name of my noble friend the Marquess of Linlithgow is not on the list. He will not be able to attend for some months, I understand, but I hope he will be able to join the Committee at a later date. I beg to move the Motion standing in my name.

Moved, That a Select Committee be appointed to consider all drafts of Orders laid before Parliament under Section 309 of the Government of India Act, 1935, or Section 157 of the Government of Burma Act, 1935, in the present Session; and that the Lords following, with the Chairman of Committees, be named of the Committee:
