HL Deb 24 November 1942 vol 125 cc199-200
LORD STRABOLGI

My Lords, I beg to ask the second question standing in my name.

[The question was as follows:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether M. Pierre Flandin and M. Pierre Pucheux, former French Ministers, have arrived in French North Africa; whether their journey was facilitated by the Commanders of the British and American occupying troops; and what is the object of their visit.]

VISCOUNT CRANBORNE

My Lords, His Majesty's Government are not aware that either M. Flandin or M. Pucheux has arrived in French, North Africa. These men have certainly received no encouragement assistance to proceed there from any British authority.
