HL Deb 24 November 1942 vol 125 c200
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)

My Lords, I beg to move the appointment of the same Committee that your Lordships appointed in the spring of this year, and with the same terms of reference relating to the costs of Private Bills. I did not move for the appointment of this Committee the other day, because the question was being discussed of whether any alteration should be made in the terms of reference or in any other way. There has been no change, however, since your Lordships first agreed to the appointment of the Committee. I beg to move.

Moved, That a Select Committee be appointed to consider the question of the cost involved in promoting and opposing Private Bills, Provisional Orders and Special Orders, and that the Lords following, with the Chairman of Committees, be named of the Committee:

—(The Earl of Onslow).

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
