HL Deb 21 August 1940 vol 117 c350

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

5.57 p.m.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I move the Second Reading of this Bill. Your Lordships are very familiar with the necessity for this measure, in order that we may keep the Customs and Excise revenue on the Isle of Man in step with our own. I do not think that you will require me to explain the terms of the Bill. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2ª.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Bill read 2ª; Committee negatived.

Then, Standing Order XXXIX having been suspended, in pursuance of the Resolution of August 15, Bill read 3ª, and passed.
