HL Deb 29 August 1939 vol 114 c912

3.22 p.m.

THE FIRST LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (EARL STANHOPE)

My Lords, His Majesty's Government propose that Parliament should be asked to reassemble on Tuesday of next week—that is to say, to-day week. Your Lordships will remember, of course, that the House has taken powers to enable it to be summoned at any day should the situation so require. Therefore I propose that we should now adjourn until three o'clock on Tuesday next.

Moved, That the House do now adjourn until Tuesday next at three o'clock.—(Earl Stanhope.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House adjourned at twenty-three minutes past three o'clock.
