Clause 1, page 1, line 12, at end insert ("and the licence is produced at the time of the delivery under the Customs Acts of the entry of the consignment.")

THE EARL OF FEVERSHAM

My Lords, in Clause 1 it is provided that it shall not be lawful to import or bring into Great Britain any live freshwater fish or live eggs of fish of the salmon family or of freshwater fish, unless the fish or eggs are consigned to a person licensed under the section. The best way of showing that a person is licensed under the section is to produce the licence, and the object of this Amendment is to enable the Customs Officer to be sure that the fish or eggs are consigned to a person licensed under the section. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Earl of Feversham.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
