HL Deb 01 June 1937 vol 105 c317
THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I have to acquaint your Lordships' House that by virtue of the power granted to me as Lord Chancellor by the Statute 5, George IV, Chapter 82, Section 3, I have appointed Francis William Lascelles, Esquire, C.B., M.C., to be your Lordships' Reading Clerk and Clerk of Outdoor Committees in the place of Robert Leslie Overbury, Esquire, who has been appointed Clerk Assistant. Mr. Lascelles holds the post of Clerk of Public Bills, the duties of which office he will continue to discharge. His knowledge of the work of this Department and of the procedure of your Lordships' House will fit him to a singular degree to hold the post to which he has now been appointed, subject to your Lordships' approval. I beg to move: That this House do approve the appointment of Francis William Lascelles, Esquire, C.B., M.C., to be their Lordships' Reading Clerk and Clerk of Outdoor Committees in the place of Robert Leslie Overbury, Esquire, who has been appointed Clerk Assistant.

Moved accordingly, and, on Question, Motion agreed to nemine dissentiente.
