§ Order of the Day for the consideration of Commons Message read.
§ THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)My Lords, in moving the Resolution which stands in my name I would like to explain to your Lordships that this is to re-constitute a Committee which was set up in June last. Since that was during the old Parliament it is necessary to have a fresh Resolution, and accordingly it was moved in another place. I beg to move.
§ Moved, That this House do concur in the Resolution communicated by the Commons, namely: "That it is expedient that a Joint Committee of Lords and Commons be appointed to consider and report upon the accommodation for refreshment rooms and lavatories in the Palace of Westminster."—(Viscount Hailsham.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
§ Ordered, That a Message be sent to the Commons to acquaint them therewith.
