HL Deb 18 December 1935 vol 99 c257

Order of the Day for the consideration of Commons Message read.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)

My Lords, in moving the Resolution which stands in my name I would like to explain to your Lordships that this is to re-constitute a Committee which was set up in June last. Since that was during the old Parliament it is necessary to have a fresh Resolution, and accordingly it was moved in another place. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House do concur in the Resolution communicated by the Commons, namely: "That it is expedient that a Joint Committee of Lords and Commons be appointed to consider and report upon the accommodation for refreshment rooms and lavatories in the Palace of Westminster."—(Viscount Hailsham.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

Ordered, That a Message be sent to the Commons to acquaint them therewith.
