My Lords, the Motion which stands on the Paper in my name is a formal Motion, which is moved from the Woolsack at the commencement of every Session to set up a Consolidation Joint Committee to deal with Consolidation Bills in order that any Bills of that character which may be put forward may be considered to see how far they merely consolidate and do not amend the law. I beg to move.

Moved, That it is desirable that all Consolidation Bills in the present Session be referred to a Joint Committee of both Houses of Parliament.—(The Lord Chancellor.)
