THE MARQUESS OF LONDONDERRY

My Lords, paragraph (e) of subsection (2) of Clause 22 prohibits the return by the promoter of a private lottery of any money which he has received in respect of the issue or allocation of chances in the lottery. The insertion of the words "or valuable thing" is designed to prevent evasion of this provision by the use of valuable things other than money as defined in Clause 26. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House cloth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Marquess of Londonderry.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
