HL Deb 05 June 1934 vol 92 c788
THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I have to acquaint the House that by virtue of the power granted to me as Lord Chancellor by the Statute 5 George IV, chapter 82, Section 3, I have appointed Montagu Ronald Alfred Muir Mackenzie, Esquire, to be your Lordships' Clerk Assistant in the place of Henry John Fanshawe Badeley, Esquire, C.B.E., who has been appointed Clerk of the Parliaments. Mr. Ronald Muir Mackenzie needs no introduction from me, nor any citation of his many qualities which fit him to occupy this responsible position. He has for many years occupied the position of Reading Clerk and Clerk of Outdoor Committees, and I am sure that every one of your Lordships really knows him. I beg to move: That this House do approve the appointment of Montagu Ronald Alfred Muir Mackenzie, Esquire, to be their Lordships' Clerk Assistant in the room of Henry John Fanshawe Badeley, Esquire, C.B.E., who has been appointed Clerk of the Parliaments.

Moved accordingly, and, on Question, Motion agreed to nemine dissentiente.
