HL Deb 05 December 1934 vol 95 c132
LORD MERRIVALE

My Lords, I ask leave to introduce a Bill which passed your Lordships' House in the last Session and would no doubt have been accepted in the House of Commons but that it was held up in a Standing Committee. It is a Bill to amend the law with regard to procedure in causes in the High Court in England wherein decree of nullity of marriage is prayed. I have another Bill which was also read a second time and as to this I will ask your Lordships' leave to introduce it. It is in substance the same as that passed last Session but with some amendment. I beg to move that the Matrimonial Causes (Procedure in Suits for Nullity) Bill be read a first time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 1a.—(Lord Merrivale.)

On Question, Bill read 1a, and to be printed.
