HL Deb 16 November 1933 vol 89 c435

After Clause 304, page 181, line 21, at end insert the following new clause:

Interpretation as respects Crown rights.

(".The mention in this Act in relation to any particular matter of His Majesty's Royal Prerogative shall not be held to prejudice or affect, in relation to that or to any other matter, the general application of any rule of law with respect to any estate, right, power, privilege, or exemption of the Crown.")

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, this Amendment is a little different. The object is to safeguard the Royal Prerogative in Crown cases. The Amendment has been very carefully drawn because the choice of a form of words has been a matter of difficulty, but it is thought that we have it right now. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
