§ LORD PONSONBY OF SHULBREDEMy Lords, before the adjournment is moved may I ask the Leader of the House whether the date given for reassembling still stands good?
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR AVAR (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)My Lords, the date does stand. I understand that in a very few minutes we may hope to receive from another place the Agricultural Marketing Bill, and in that event it will be possible to have it printed and circulated to-morrow. That will give a fortnight before Tuesday, June 13, and your Lordships will have an opportunity before then of studying the Agricultural Marketing Bill. I propose therefore to take the Second Reading of that Bill on Tuesday, the 13th of June. By taking that course we shall be able to have a little longer time before the Committee stage, which, I think, probably will be desirable, because a good many of your Lordships will want to consider the Bill in detail before the Committee stage. Then on Wednesday there is a Question by the noble Lord, Lord Noel-Buxton, as to wages under the Agricultural Wages Act, and there is also a Question of the noble Earl, Lord Kinnoull, about parachutes for commercial aeroplanes. On Thursday there will 1112 be the Committee stages of the Summary Jurisdiction (Appeals) Bill and of the Administration of Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, both Bills which were moved by the noble and learned Viscount on the Woolsack, who will take them in Committee. As I have said, a Division is taking place elsewhere, as a result of which we may expect the Bill in a very few minutes. Therefore I would suggest that the House should adjourn during pleasure and then resume as soon as the Bill comes from another place.
§ House adjourned during pleasure.
§ House resumed.
