Amendment and Revocation of Schemes.

5. The Minister shall by order revoke a scheme regulating the marketing of any product— if an order is made for the winding up of the board administering the scheme;

6. Without prejudice to any other powers conferred on him by this Act, the Minister, if he is of opinion that any provision of a scheme or any act or omission of a board administering a scheme is contrary to the interest of consumers of the regulated product, or is contrary to the interest of a substantial number of persons affected by the scheme and is not in the public interest, may lay before each House of Parliament the draft of an order revoking the scheme, and unless either House, before the expiration of a period of twenty days on which that House has sat next after the draft is laid before it, resolves that the order shall not be made, the Minister may make an order in terms of the draft to take effect on such date after the expiration of the said period as may be specified in the order.

LORD HASTINGS moved, in paragraph 6, to leave out all words after "revoking the scheme, and" and to insert "if each House resolves that the order shall be approved, the Minister shall make the order to take effect on such date after the passing of the last of the resolutions of approval as may be specified in the order." The noble Lord said: The Amendment I have on the Paper is intended to bring the clause into line with the rest of the Bill. Does the noble Earl accept it?
