HL Deb 29 May 1930 vol 77 cc1186-7

Page 5, line 43, at end, insert: ("The Board of Control shall upon the signed request of any person who considers himself to be unjustly detained under such application, recommendation, or order, furnish to him or to his authorised representative free of cost a copy of such application, recommendation, or order.")

EARL RUSSELL

My Lords, I beg to move that in this case your Lordships should agree to this Amendment with an Amendment. It is purely drafting, but it puts the matter in order. The form in which I ask your Lordships to pass the Amendment is as follows:— The Board of Control shall upon the signed request of any person who considers himself to be unjustly detained under such application or recommendation, furnish to him or to his authorised representative free of cost a copy of such application or recommendation. The words "or order" which are in the Amendment are not apt.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment as amended.—(Earl Russell.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
